‘Tis A Little Different in Ramadhan

Posted on September 12, 2007. Filed under: Blogroll |

We know (or even if you don’t know now you’ll know) that it is beneficial to offer salat Witr in the later part of night. But it is different in Ramadhan. I heard a hadith, meaning of which is following:

“One who offers prayer behind Imam (in the night of Ramadhan) until he (the Imam) finishes the prayer, it is written for him that he prayed whole night.”*

And Imam finishes the prayer after witr. So it would be more beneficial to offer salat witr in congregation, i.e. behind Imam than offering it in segregation in later part of night.

Blus**, check out a suggested Ramadhan timetable at at-Tazkirah.

* My apologies for another reference-less post.
** My African friend, Abdullah can’t say ‘P’ and it has started to take it’s toll on me too.
